Limping To The Breakdown Lane © Brian Straub 11 & 12/03

Verse 1

I’m sitting here on this highway
And the traffic won’t move a lick
I’m thinking the grass is always greener
As away the minutes tick

Verse 2
I always seem to pick the wrong lane
And the cars start passing by
One foot on the brake, one foot on the gas
And I just can’t seem to fly

Chorus

And I believe I got more soul
Than half the people on this road
So why am I sitting back here
Staring at the tail end of their loads

Verse 3
They say do unto others
As you’d have them do to you
But that don’t seem to make much sense
Unless they believe it too

Verse 4
Better get out and start walking
To get to where the others have been
I’ll get there late or maybe not at all
As I go limping to the breakdown lane

Instrumental Verse – X 2

Chorus – X 2
